I did not take proper care of my teeth and gums for a long time, due to personal reasons which I won't discuss.
Recently, in the last week, I started brushing again, and as I expected from reading information online, my gums started to bleed, probably due to gum disease.
However, after a week of lengthy brushing twice a day, my gums have stopped bleeding. I didn't expect this, as it only took a week for it to stop happening, yet I hadn't taken care of my teeth and gums consistantly for years.
Is this a good sign, or may there be some underlying 'bad' cause to this happening?
Additionally, even though I have not taken very good care of my teeth over years, I have never had any toothache or any other problems, yet others in my family who do take care of their teeth get toothaches and such every few months. Is there any reason why I wouldn't have had any problems?
Bleeding gums stopped bleeding?
The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago, and my dentist told me to swish with salt water 3 times day after EVERY meal to reduce the blood. Salt with strengthin the gums to were they can handle the brissels on the toothbrush.
Reply:well that is good because your teeth were infected but talk to your dentist and get clean ups tell them its an emergency and it may be gingivites but the best thing you can do is go and buy plax which you use before brushing for plague then you brush your teeth with a spinner brush (the spinner brushs are the best) and use a name brand tooth paste like colgate or crest with tarter control then floss your teeth then use listerine that will help your teeth ALOt but like i said before talk to your dentist
Reply:Diet for bleeding. If your diet is missing some vitamins, you can brush and floss all you want, but your gums will still bleed.
Genetics possibly for the good teeth(that and diet) or maybe there is sugar in the toothpaste.
I am seeking a class action lawsuit against the toothpaste companies for not living up to their advertisements - prevents cavities...I still get them...eliminates bad breath,,,,I still get it....whitens teeth...NOT. They are as bad as Microsoft.
Reply:you maybe brushing your teeth too hard, try to carefully brush teeth in a proper technique. also try to replace your toothbrush with the one that has soft bristles. if your gums are sensitive, try to seek help from a dentist this can be another issue that you might not take for granted. have proper oral hygiene always.
persistent bleeding gums can be signs of gum disease or periodontal disease. this is high time that you consult a dentist. failure to treat this can make teeth start to fall out. do not forget to maintain practicing good oral hygiene like careful brushing and flossing.
be warned about the early stage of gum disease do not take this for granted for a host of health problems can be brought by gum disease. visit http://www.themouthdoctor.com for more tips about good gum care.
