Sore gums when I brush?

My gums are fine when i dont brush my teeth... But the minute I start brushing (somewhat vigorously) near the back of my teeth, my gums start feeling sore and well.. not healthy! They aren't bright red, but they aren't the perfect pink color either. I just went to the dentist on monday and they said that i had a small cavity in the back molar that theyre gonna fill, but nothing too serious. they cleaned and flossed everything out and the hygenist said if i kept brushing the sore gums would go away. i've been brushing twice a day since then but they are still sore! whats wrong?? what can i do to stop it?? thanks

Sore gums when I brush?
Use a soft bristled toothbrush, floss and rinse. You can use a hydrogen peroxide mix for the rinse (read the directions on the bottle). If it keeps up, ask the dentist.
Reply:you need to go to the dentist
Reply:any bleeding? It could be jinjavitus.

(when gums are sore and bleeding)
Reply:YOU NEED TO SEE A DENTIST.
Reply:gingivitis
Reply:you gums are probably sore and are not used to being brushed in that area. you should contact a doctor if it gets worse or try a different toothpaste. im not a dentist so i wouldnt know
Reply:Try using a softer toothbrush. Look at other toothpastes as well, like Tom's. Using antiseptics like Listerine help strengthen gums. Always, always floss.
Reply:If you just saw your dentist then I wouldn't be too worried about it . You are suppose to mainly brush your teeth . Maybe you are brushing your gums too hard ? You should purchase a toothbrush with soft bristles. not hard / stiff ones. Good Luck ! :)
Reply:Keep brushing a pay more attention to your mouth health. You don't want to be the first one on your block to have dentures, do you?
Reply:It will take a good week or so for the gums to become healthy again, you need to brush through the pain because brushing is the only way to make them better, try to brush in small circle motions instead of brushing to hard. a mouth wash once a day might help aswell,
Reply:do you yous mouth wash
Reply:Try using a soft brisle toothbrush, I had the same problem. You have to strenghten them back up
Reply:Use a soft brush because you do not have to brush hard. Do not brush your gums. Rinse with a mixture of proxide and water to help heal your mouth. If the soreness continues, see your Dr. again. This worked for me when I had a sore mouth. I hope it helps you. Good luck.

PS I dont think you need to brush as many times in the day. One in the am, One in the Pm.
Reply:Try hydrogen proxide with salt and water. Hydrogen proxide can be found basically everywhere in the pharmacies. Regular salt and tap water will do. It doesn't taste good, but it works.
Reply:I think you answered that yourself,Do not brush so bloody

hard!Allow me to give you a recap,I

taught my children the same way, count to 30 ea. sect

Reply:better bring yourself to the dentist's office and seek the help of a dental expert. you may have gingivitis or the early stage of gum disease. taking care of your gums could entail only paying close attention to proper oral hygiene like proper brushing and careful flossing every after meal. this can help remove plaque that get stuck on teeth. having a regular dental check up and regular dental cleanings can make sure that teeth and gums stay healthy. water has a lot of health benefits and this can be advantageous to oral and dental health. make sure that you drink adequate amount of water to be able to keep bad bacteria in the mouth at bay. visit http://www.themouthdoctor.com for more gum care tips.
