Swollen Gums!?

My gums just so recently began swelling up. At first it was around just one tooth and then the gum began swelling around the other teeth as well! I don't know what the problem is- i've always cleaned my teeth properly (even with the braces i've had on) and i havnt gotten a cavity in quite some time. i just recently bought those new chocolate fiberone bars so i'm thinking it might be contributing to this gum inflamation. So i've decided to cut back on those. i've also been brushing my teeth better though it KILLS to floss certain teeth. i'm in real pain right now and i have no idea how to help the pain and swelling! please, some advice??

Swollen Gums!?
Most dental health problems are presented with bleeding and SWOLLEN GUMS and by and large is known to be an inflammation of the gum tissue that is most visible at the gum line where teeth and tissue meet. Plaque that is found on teeth is to blame for swollen gums and subsequent worsening of the gum inflammation and although daily oral hygiene will remove some of it, for a complete removal a visit to the dental health care professional is in order.

Reply:gingivitis????

BRUSH UR GUMS! AND USE MOUTHWASH! EVEN IF IT BLEEDS! IT MEANS ITS GETTING BETTER!

once it starts going down then floss again
Reply:You need to be flossing as well, after each and every meal. You probably have the beginnings of gingivitis like me, which is very reverseable. Also, look into getting an automatic tooth brush to massage your gums, doing this gets the blood in your gums circulation which helps your gums become pinker.

The only real cure is to floss, floss, floss.
Reply:My sisters teeth swelled up and hurt so bad she couldn't eat. Like you she takes very good care of her teeth. After going to a couple different doctors she was diagnosed with leukemia. Swollen sore gums is a symptom. Please go to your dentist or doctor right away. It took a couple of weeks before a doctor diagnosed her. I'm not trying to scare you but if she knew it was a symptom she would have gone to the doctor sooner. Of course swollen gums can be other things like gum disease either way you need to go to your doctor.
Reply:I agree with the other answers but I would like to add a couple of things. First, rinse your mouth with warm salt water 2 or 3 times each day.

Next, this is a product that is an herbal oil that you place on a special gum brush to brush your gums with. It feels soooo good after using it and is helpful with gum disorders. You may be able to find it at a local store or else, there are several places on line that sell it. Here is a link: http://www.luckyvitamin.com/019373853519...
Reply:swollen gums can be caused by a gum infection. having a pus in the mouth can signal bacterial infection in the gums. consulting a dentist is the best thing to do. take oral health seriously for gum disease can affect general health if left untreated. and it is best that you pay close attention to good oral hygiene to prevent gum disease from silently attacking and progressing. make it a habit to properly and carefully brush and floss teeth to remove plaque and keep the mouth free from bad bacteria from proliferating. visit http://www.oramd.com for more tips on how to take good care of the gums.
