What does it mean when there is a soft sore spot in your gum under your teeth?

There is a small little spot under my lower set of teeth in my gums that hurts when i eat or touch it. Could this be a new tooth or is it something else. Please help...thanx!

It sounds to me like you have an abscess forming. If it turns into a bump or a white pus filled bump then that is what it is. Call the Dentist tomorrow morning and tell them what it is and looks like etc. and see what they think you should do. I would definitely have it checked out now. If it is abscessed you will want to take an antibiotic to get rid of the infection before it gets really infected and painful !!!!
Reply:An ulcer maybe? If it is, put some alum on your finger (it's a spice) and hold it over the spot for two minutes. Put your mouth over the trash can b/c you will salivate, so it will drain out. After a day or so it should go away after that. If that's what it is....

make a mixture of a tablespoon of salt and a cup of warm water.. and like whish it in your mouth and using your finger tip put salt and rub it on the sore. it really hurts but it helps... or go buy cold sore med at a drug store
Reply:You probably got a piece of food underneath them while eating something. Rince your mouth out with a mixture of half water and halp peroxide ( Don't swallow ). Then sleep without them for a night or two. It happens all the time. If their new and continues it may mean there is a rough spot on the dentures and you have to go back to the dentist to grind the spot off.
Reply:More than likely it is an abcess. That is the nerve of your tooth is infected and that is where the infection came out. You do not always have pain with this. if you stick a small needle in the middle of it and puss comes out then that is what it is.


you need to get to a dentist as soon as possible before you really have pain or get swollen.
