About three weeks ago I started getting a sore mouth. My gums were sore, but not near my teeth. They were sore along the area that connects the lips to the gums. The pain would move throughout my mouth- starting on the upper right side and eventually down to the lower lower left. After 3 days my throat started getting sore. On the 6th day, everything had gone away. I was talking to my doctor and told her about this.
Since the pain was gone, she said it could have been a virus or possibly a vitamin difficiency.
Now, it's back. It started about 5 days ago on my lower right gum/inner lip area. Now it's in the centre of the lower gum area.
The pain is almost like someone punched my chin. Sometimes it moves a bit and it's like little paper cuts in my mouth.
I just finished 5 days of antibiotics and the pain is still here.
Also, I have the sore throat again. Only the pain is different in the throat. It feels like a regular sore throat, while the mouth pain is like someone punched me.
Painful mouth/gums/inside of lips- no sores. Help!?
I've never heard of anything like this but maybe go to a dentist or go to a specialist (throat) to see what's going on. You're doctor shouldn't be "guessing". Something is definitely going on and you need another opinion. Good luck!
