White spot on gums?

I have a small white spot on my gums near my bottom wisdom tooth. My wisdom tooth is impacted and will be removed in a few months. The gum swells up from time to time and hurts but then swelling and pain will subside. I've never noticed a white spot before but then again I haven't really looked for it. The white spot only hurts when there is pressure on it. The white spot is flat and doesn't puss that I have seen. I have tried to feel for a "pimple" of sorts to pop but the white spot is flush with my gum. My gum is swollen around my wisdom tooth causing mild discomfort. If it continues after a few more days I am going to the dentist, but I was curious as to what I can expect to hear... any dentists out there wanna shed some light?

Reply:The infalammation around wisdom tooth is very common, its because ur wisdom tooth is trying to erupt. u need to rincse with antibacterial mouthwash/ warm salty water and keep it very clean with tooth brush. if very painful see ur dentist for some advice and may be antibiotics. white spots can be due to smoking if u r an smoker if not it could be due to gum infection around wisdom tooth.
