If its you're daughter why does it matter. Also I'm BLACK %26amp; my gums are the same color as yours. Unless you're gums are green, black, %26amp; purple.

Maybe she's part chow.
Reply:wouldn't you know if your daughter is bi-racial? Anyway, sometimes things like that could just be genetics. Or maybe some type of gum dissease.
Reply:I was put off by the question just as the first answerer was but i thought about it. Maybe the asker is a white male who fathered a child with a white female and is now questionning the child's paternity based on this observation.
Reply:Dark gum pigmentation is due to melanin content. Anyone with dark pigmented skin MIGHT have darker gums. As WillisCurry1 says, all Black people do not have dark gums. It depends on how the melanin is distributed. I see many African-American patients, Mediterranean patients, Asian patients, or Native American patients who have melanin deposits in their gums. If you have a grandparent of this descent, it could come from there. "No big deal."
Reply:Good grief,, this could have come from any relative in the last 10 generations of your wife or your own family.

Make sure there is no medical reason for it, but if its an issue that is going to effect your marraige for goodness sake get a DNA mouth swab and check.

My guess is if the dentist says her mouth is ok, you have people in your bloodline from many years past that had dark skin.

I am white but have the same pigmentation spots that are problematic for dark skinned people,, I have olive skin tones and am the only one in my family that does. Black people comment all time that they have never seen a white person with the pigmentation issue. I smile and say me neither and they smile back and I go on with my life. We are what we are, your daughter is what she is and I Yam what I Yam.
Reply:Marlene u're wierd.
