Bleeding gums? Swelling pouch?

This morning my gums seemed to be bleeding alot. I brush atlleast 2 times a day so i'm not sure why? Also, there is like a pouch of gum between my 2 teeth that is larger, like swelling. Anyone know what that is? Could it be from grinding my teeth, b/c i've been told i do that at night?

It sounds like you may have a abscess, perio abscess or it's also possible that it's something stuck under the gum tissue causing the swelling. That happens quite a bit with patients who eat popcorn or nuts with skins; the skin or hull slips under the tissue, where even floss may miss it and goes unnoticed until the area swells from the irritation. Grinding teeth is another problem which needs to be corrected with a night guard.

The swelling is an indication that there is an irritation or infection that needs to be addressed. You mentioned that you brush twice a day, but didn't mention flossing. I would suggest that you floss all of your teeth, but "especially" this area, exceptionally well, and rinse with really warm salt water several times a day over the next day or two. If you don't see any relief or the area becomes more swollen or painful, then schedule an emergency appointment with your dentist.
Reply:you maybe brushing your teeth too hard, try to carefully brush teeth in a proper technique. also try to replace your toothbrush with the one that has soft bristles. if your gums are sensitive, try to seek help from a dentist this can be another issue that you might not take for granted. have proper oral hygiene always.

persistent bleeding gums can be signs of gum disease or periodontal disease. this is high time that you consult a dentist. failure to treat this can make teeth start to fall out. do not forget to maintain practicing good oral hygiene like careful brushing and flossing.

be warned about the early stage of gum disease do not take this for granted for a host of health problems can be brought by gum disease. visit http://www.themouthdoctor.com for more tips about good gum care.
