The gums where my wisdom teeth should be coming in are bothering me?

There is a pain where my wisdom teeth should be coming in. The gums there is on a higher elevation then my regular gums and it hurts if I push on it with my tongue.

It isn't super painful, I havn't even thought about taking a pain reliever. This also happened on the other side of my mouth, but the pain went away quickly. What is wrong, if anything?

The wisdom's are trying to come through the best way to deal with this is to use a hot salt water mouth rinse as often as possible to prevent any infection starting
Reply:It is probably just your wisdom teeth. They tend to go in and out before they actually break the skin in some people and finally come all the way out. It is pretty normal nothing to be worried about.
Reply:It might be your wisdom teeth coming in. It could also be that you might have a cavity in your back molar. My back molar is cracked but the pain felt like it was coming from my wisdom tooth. Go to your dentist for x-rays.
Reply:I had the exact same problem- i just waited it out because i dont much like taking pain killers- and the pain went away. its most likely that your wisdom teeth are starting to grow. if the pain gets worse take an asprin, if it gets too bad call your dentist
Reply:Sounds like your wisdom tooth is coming in. This will come and go until it finaly makes it through, if it's not impacted. Endure this for one or two cycles before you give up and get an x-ray to see if it's coming in the right direction.

Reply:Sounds like they may be impacted. Time to visit your friendly neighborhood dentist !
Reply:Hi,

You should see a dentist, and have an xray performed to make sure that they are not affecting the rest of your teeth. Also, if you have a gum infection, ibuprofen or oral antibiotics may help deminish some of the pain. All of my wisdom teeth were impacted or deep within my jaw, and needed to be surgically removed.

Good luck.
Reply:IT DOES SOUND LIKE IT'S THE WISDOM TEETH, TRY TO EAT A SOFTER DIET FOR AWHILE, AND TAKE SOME IBUPROFEN IF NEEDED FOR THE DISCOMFORT. SEE A DENTIST FOR AN X-RAY TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT IMPACTED.
Reply:Your wisdom teeth are coming in! It can take a lot of time...the pain will come and go before the come in all the way.
