My gums are sore and I cannot drink anything, WHAT DO I DO?

I cannot drink anything unless I take 600mg of ibuprofen first and that only last me about 5 minutes. I cannot even drink warm water. I get kind of a sting when it touches my gums and it hurts really badly. I also wear invisalign so my gums are always sore but I NEVER had this kind of problem. My antibotics aren't working much and I am afraid that since I can't drink a lot something is going to happen because I can't flush them out. I have tried rinsing with warm water and salt and nothing happens. Any other suggestions?

See your dentist immediately if this represents a change from past situations. You could have developed an infection that makes Invisalign pointless since you could be about to have no teeth to align. (No, not kidding. Infections such as you describe can do that.)

The dentist might prescribe something like Sensodyne toothpaste, which has a topical anaesthetic, but this is not something for on-line diagnosis.
Reply:Why are you asking us idiots instead of a dentist?
Reply:It could be a viral infection or a fungal infection. I am sorry but it is impossible to diagnose you without seeing your mouth. Just use a diluted antiseptic mouthwash until you see your dentist.
Reply:swish warm salt water in your mouth every hour i have bad gums and teeth this really works!
