Are black gums normal for some breeds? We have a Black Chow/Mix, and my g/f never noticed his gums being black. Thats not to say they always have been black?!!! Any ideas?

Some dog breeds just naturally have black gums. Some have black tongues too.
Reply:Yes, it's normal. Chows commonly have black gums although they can be pink, too.
