Dogs gums???

how pink should a healthy dogs gums be?i have been reading on the net and there is no indication of how pink healthy gums are, it just says pink which isnt much help to me?

Dogs gums???
a healthy pink is easy to see in a dogs mouth if you press on there gums they should remain a pink colour,a pale pink white colour indicates that the dog could have a worm?flea problem by the fleas or worms sucking the blood.a white gum can also be an indication of anemia in a dog as well
Reply:Depends on if the dog is cold or hot.

After exercise my dogs gums are deep pink.

Normally they are pale pink or nearly white.
Reply:Vet recently examined my dogs teeth and gums and said they were healthy but if there were black or dark grey patches to start worrying.
Reply:Well you don't really want them to be a red or really pale pink. Somewhere in the middle is the best way i can describe it.

Pale pink to white gums can indicate that your dog is in shock or anemic. Blue gums indicate that your dog isn't getting enough oxygen. Red gums can be an indication of illness as well.

Some dogs like Chow Chows have naturally different gums. Theres tend to be a blackish coloring
Reply:deep pink? Light pink? My experience working in an ER Animal Hospital is not the color but when pressed on how long does it take the gum to return to the original color? Press for 1 sec release and watch how long it takes gum to return to color......if stays pale color the dog is ill...if returns immediately dog is fine.

Of course other things to look for is general health of mouth and teeth.
