My gums are swolen, and im in a bunch of pain...help!?

So yesterday at my friends house I was chewing on a gum wrapper...And I guess parts of it got stuck between my teeth..

Well, I woke up about 10 minutes ago with an extremely horrible pain in my mouth..I knew already it was because of the wrapper pieces, and when I looked in the mirror, my gums were HORRIBLY swollen.

After about 5 minutes of painful flossing, and using a needle, I got the pieces out. I took some rapid pain reliever, and it should work... But until then, my mouth is still incredibly painful! The swelling hasn't even gone down any, and im soo tired.. I can't sleep when im in pain, so it's really really uncomfortable right now :[

What can I do to help the swelling go down, and to help relieve the pain so I can sleep?!

My gums are swolen, and im in a bunch of pain...help!?
You could go and buy bonegela paste for your gums as it has an analgesic in it to numb the pain and keep gargling warm salt water to make sure no infection sets in as it will be a whole lot more painful
Reply:I'm not sure if this will work, but you can try to gargle with hydrogen peroxide. It can help stabilize the inside of your mouth which will in turn lessen your pain. When you gargle with this, do so slowly as it bubbles when it finds some irritant to work on. It does a certain amount of foreign body removal. It foams like mad. Swish it slowly in your mouth. Then let it sit on your teeth. Spit it out and start again. Do this a while and then rinse with water.

If it doesn't clear up, you'll need to go to the dentist.

You never should have chewed on a gum wrapper.
