So i had my bottom two wisdom teeth extracted 2 weeks ago, and feel like one side has healed back to normal. The right side however seems to have a gap between the tooth and gums; that is, my gums are loose and flappy around my molars, when they should be tight up against my teeth... Is this normal? and What should I do to keep keep my gums intact? Has this happened to anyone before?
Why are my gums loose after wisdom teeth removal?
Pretty normal salt water rinses 1/2 teaspoon of salt in 8 oz. warmest water you may tolerate rinse twice daily for one week also gently massaging that area with tooth brush doesn't hurt either. Be patient it will heal nicely. One side might have been more difficult that the other. Hang in there.
Reply:This is normal. Gums are very elastic tissue and need to be manipulated to extract the teeth. They will go back to normal in a while. And yes- this happened to me when my wisdom teeth were removed.
Reply:Got to give it some time to heal. Then it will go back to normal. If still not sure seek a doctor
Reply:I had all four out in september and the gums are still loose around the bottom teeth. They can take up to six months to settle said the surgeon. It creates a heck of a food trap so make sure you brush and floss regularly as soon as they aren't sensitive anymore.
Reply:kayleigh explained very good!!!! is she a dentist or a hygienist?
