I've always had quite a "gummy" smile, if you will (which I HATE by the way) but since I've got braces it seems to have gotten worse. Yeah, the dentist said some swelling probably happened because of the braces but seriously, my gum covers almost half of my teeth in the back! (or so it looks anyway) I'm afraid that when I get my braces off, my gums will go on more of my teeth. I hate this! Is there anyway to get rid of my "gummy" teeth/smile?
And I'm serious, I don't want joke answers!
Gums going over my teeth?
That happens with braces sometimes, just make sure you are brushing the gums as well as the teeth. If you can't get in to clean and floss due to the braces the bacteria can irritate and cause the gums to become inflamed. If after the braces are removed you still are not happy with the smile there is a simple procedure that can remove some of the gum tissue.
Reply:Are you a hypochondriac? But if it's true I would suggest trying to push them up before pictures, that's what I do!
