I mean I was munching on some corn chips and all of a sudden I feel something go under my gum line, not much pain but uncomfortable. The last thing I need is a tortilla chip rotting in my gums.
But you know what? I'm not sure if a chip is actually up there, I just have a funny feeling in my gum. I check the same exact spot on the other side of my mouth and there is a difference.
Could something have lodged in my gums without pain? Should I go to the dentist?
Tortilla chip stuck in gums, should I go to the dentist?
this happend to me one time.. i just kinda kept on pickin on it till it came out lolz... and tried to drink lots of water... to moisten it up i suppose... never had to go to dentist... but again..that depends on you though if you are feeling pain or discomfort...
Reply:wow that`s some hard core... literally. of course you should go to the dentist, cause who nos u mite have brces.. like me and if you wait too long. you mite need surgery to get it out! at least.. i think so.
Reply:just leave it there and when your jaw swell's up you will know forsure that there indeed was a tortilla chip up there!
Reply:Well there's these wonderful things called FLOSSPICKS! One side has floss, the other side is a toothpick. I've gotten chips broken off under my gums before... If the floss doesn't get it, gently pick it out with the toothpick part. And if you STILL can't get it, then yes, go to the dentist for a cleaning.
Reply:Go get help lol i dont think a tooth brush will help
Reply:ever try flossing?
Reply:Seems possible to me. My dentist told me that it is common for pieces of popcorn husks to get pushed down between the gums and the teeth. He said that this sometimes causes an abscess of the gums and he has had to remove husks several times.
If it gets sore and infected go to the dentist.
